
| BURTON BERKSON, M.D., Ph.D., is an authority on the use of alpha lipoic
acid (thioctic acid) to treat disease. He is the FDA's principal investigator
for its intravenous use, and consultant to the National Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention. His ground-breaking treatment modalities using alpha
lipoic acid have cured patients suffering from acute liver failure. In one

mushrooms. Dr. Berkson earned his M.D. from Autonomous University, Mexico and his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Illinois. He has taught at Rutgers and Chicago State University.
